About LBC

History

Lithuanian Bishops' Conference (LBC) is an association of Catholic bishops of Latin rite of the Lithuanian Church. It was established so that the bishops would be able to investigate, discuss and solve pastoral questions together as well as to coordinate activities of the Church.

Membership of the Conference of Lithuanian Bishops is open to diocesan bishops of the dioceses of Lithuania and persons equal to them equal in law: administrators of the dioceses, bishops coadjutors, bishops auxiliaries and other titular bishops, discharging their special duties of the Holy See and the Conference of Lithuanian Bishops in the territory of Lithuania.

The president and the vice-president of the Lithuanian Bishops' Conference (LBC) are elected for a three year period in a Plenary Session.
