General Secretary is elected for a three year period and is in charge of the Secretariat of the Conference.
A general secretary may be a bishop or a priest, but in the latter case a bishop is also elected for the matters of choosing and nominating bishops as well as for other issues required to be kept in secret. General Secretary discharges his duties as a secretary and takes care of the archive of the Conference. He also informs all members of the Conference about the decisions of the Plenary Session and activities of the Permanent Council, he is responsible for drafting of reports and study projects, informing or declaring about them if required and maintains relations with other Conferences of Bishops.
